PowerSave Schools for Teachers

The PowerSave Schools Program provides teachers, administrators, and custodians with a wealth of information and resources to implement the program on campus. A typical PowerSave team will have two adult members who provide support to student members by facilitating meetings. The program is structured by benchmarks for each team to meet and provides teachers with lesson plans, materials for energy audits, and much more.

We seek to make the PowerSave program simple and effective for teachers to implement. Each PowerSave team has a local project leader who visits the school to meet with the team and ensure that they are making progress toward program benchmarks. Some teachers choose to make PowerSave a part of their curriculum, choosing a class period that will function as the PowerSave Team. Similarly, many schools create a student club to implement the program, utilizing lunch periods or time after school to hold meetings and pursue projects.
